Stakes Day
With many just finishing exams, theses, and a week of partying at the races, Stakes day was the perfect setting to kick off our new-found freedom. With about 3 grand worth of food and drinks, marquees, tables, chairs, ice, etc jammed in the van, Matt and I rendezvoused at Flemington somewhat late, to phonecalls of "when are you getting here!?" and "Where are you guys". They had locked the gates, and it was looking like we might have to lug all the crap from the van outside to our carpark miles in. After some rather aggresive negotiation with security, they agreed (against all OH&S) to re-open the gates, and we got a security escort in... *phew*

We had a coupla marquees, buckets of grog which never seemed to get empty, and way too much food. Here's some photos of people:
Well done to those that managed to colour co-ordinate with the marquees and eskies as I suggested. We know who you are...
By the end of the day, any worries about the late start were quashed as most of the booze miraculously got polished off, everyone found new friends (and partners), and there were even some wardrobe malfunctions (no photos as promised).
I'll post up a few videos I took when I can...
